Drs, Albert and Hancock are accredited as trainers in the Oxford Deanery. As such we usually have doctors in learning in the practice. We all strongly believe that having learners in the practice is a very positive influence. As a training practice we are regularly inspected and have to adhere to higher than usual standards of care.
As part of the contract with the NHS all primary care providers are required to offer/work towards the following :
Electronic Appointment Booking - Burford Surgery patients can book appointments electronically
On line Booking of repeat prescriptions - Burford Surgery patients can book repeat prescriptions
Summary Care Record - By March 2014 Burford Surgery patients will be uploaded to the spine unless they have previously declined for their records to be upload (see below)
GP2GP transfers - Burford Surgery uses GP2GP transfer of patients records
Patient Access to records. – You can now access your record to view or print off repeat medication, allergies and immunisations should you wish. To do this you need to use the EMIS ACCESS service (left hand column under book appointment on line).
Referral Management - Burford Surgery includes the patient NHS number as the primary identifier in all NHS clinical correspondence issued by the practice
Medical care is increasingly complicated and often lots of little mistakes can build up to a bigger error. We would like you to let us know if things have gone wrong so we can try to correct them.

Comments February 2015:
Absolute professionalism, courtesy, understand and help in every part of the practice! By far the best surgery practice in my 27 years of being a patient
Wonderful service and fantastic doctor (Dr Willby)
All the staff are very friendly and helpful , which is just what we need when we’re not feeling well – I have been a Burford patient for more than 70 years
Good Doctors here
It’s always a pleasant experience both on the phone or when visiting the surgery, everyone is friendly , efficient and accommodating. This would appear to be far from the norm, we are very fortunate, thank you.
Easy to get an appointment, especially with children
Service is prompt and friendly, and the doctor is very sensible.
Caring, competent, on time, well-equipped, as near to perfect as reasonably possible for any service to be. This is based on my experience of GP surgery, local community hospital and major teaching hospital
Difficult of making an appointment with an doctor – long wait – extremely long wait on the day of appointment, no board indicating late running , no apology from reception, over 40 minutes wait
