Dr Sharpley Retires from Burford Surgery

The end of an era at Burford Sharpley! Oliver Sharpley retires from the surgery at the end of February. This marks the end of the 'Sharpley years' with first his father, Dr John Sharpley, and then Oliver serving the people of Burford. Between them they have provided care for patients throughout the lifetime of the NHS. A thoroughly enjoyable evenging was held at the Lamb in Shipton-under-Wychwood on Saturday 31st January to mark the occasion. There is a book on the desk at both surgeries should patients wish to write any comments.

Save paper!
Every month we currently send several hundred recall letters to patients, for example to say you are due for a repeat blood test or a check on a condition like asthma. We currently send a letter when patients are a month overdue their check. We are now beginning to send reminders by email. You will be asked if you are happy for this to happen when you come in for your routine reviews. Due to the lack of confidentiality of email we will not send any specific information but just say that you are due for a check at the surgery. When you phone the receptionist they will be able to confirm what is due.
